Editor's Notes
Brimming with character, this military sweetheart brooch is a one-of-a-kind statement piece from Kojis, ca 1914-1918. Crafted from 14ct gold and blue enamel, it features the insignia of the Queens Own Hussars IV division in polished gold letters, with golden laurels at the bottom. At the centre sit a diamond set ‘IV’ symbol and below, an enamel scroll showcasing the motto “Mente Et Manu”, meaning ‘mind and main’. The brooch is topped with an enamel and gemstone set crown. Wear it alone or team it with several other artisanal brooches and pins for a maximalist take on traditional formalwear.
